Corpse hijaacking
I was just wondering...when there's 2 (or more, God forbid ) neccros in the party (PUG, btw), how often do you get to argue whos taking which corpse?
I'm not a MM myself (bit tedious IMO, but it's just my playstyle, no flame please!), but I use necrotic traversal (which is useful in some areas, and can be put to good combing with my n/r, but I primarily use it because it's FUN!! ), Well of Blood, etc. Sometimes I get to argue with your typical ambitious MM for consuming "his" corpses.
It's the same thing if I play MM build (I usually leave the corpses for highest level neccro - not a guarantee of anything, though), someone screams to leave his corpses alone. Being polite I deffer, but it's starting to wear on my poor undead nerves...

If you are bringing 2 necros, you need to work this out ahead of time. I play both a MM and occasional Blood necro with some corpse skills. I always feel that the MM should get first shot at the corpses, particularly early in the battle. Raising that first bone fiend when the fight is hottest can take some of the pressure off the rest of the team by creating an additional aggro magnet.
After that, it depends on the area and the enemies. If you are in an area where corpses are precious, you probably should have one necro adjust his build so it doesn't rely on corpses. If you are in an area where there are plentiful corpses, or there are enemy necros who will use the corpses if they are left around, then getting them off the ground probably takes precedence over the max number of minions.
Now, if I could just get the dark binders and gnashers to play by my rules, the world would be perfect.

This is why I play blood and only use wells as a last resort.

I agree with both. The truth of the matter is, I'm only halfway thru the missions with neccro, so I'm lacking half the skills yet. Well of blood can be useful (specially in maguuma against those pesky scarabs),and sometimes it's useless (over the top). And sometimes, there's just no way to make the other guys listen...
Oh well, seems this was just rant after a bad experience...

When I played through the game as a necro I always worked out beforehand who was taking the corpses if there was another necro on the team. I didn't mind going Blood and Curses and limiting the damage of the enemy with shadow of fear etc.

At the risk of stating the obvious, there is SOOOO much more a Necromancer is capable of than just using up corpses. Granted, that is probably the most immediately attractive job, and was one thing I drooled over in originally purchasing Guild Wars.
But that was before I discovered Curses. I skipped over the line originally since it didn't seem so interesting, but as I completed missions and got skills, I started to realize that this is where the true power lay. The skills work off each other nicely, and blend well with Secondary Professions, and other team members.
I still make sure to discuss what others on the team are doing before going into battle though. If we only have one Monk, and the other Necro isn't a MM, I'll bring Well of Blood and Blood Ritual, or something. If the group is Warrior or Ranger heavy, I'll discuss bringing Orders or Barbs. But it isn't just about the other Necro and any available corpses, it's about being a good teammate.

I usually work out with any other necros before we start who'll be using corpses. Generally I try to be MM, but if someone else wants the role I can easily go blood and not use corpses at all. Sometimes there's a bit of conflict when we're trying to use wells for support and my well of power gets ousted by a well of blood, but it rarely happens.

1. If you insist on two corpse using necros - hold down ctrl when using those skills to call it out. That way the other necro will know not to bother.
2. Get one necro to change skill setup (whoever has lowest minon level)and choose some supporting skills. Sort out what skills you both will take before leaving town (eg I have well of Power, so don't both with your crappy well of blood).
3.Curses are good for both protecting minions (eg enfeebling blood), and damaging groups (spiteful spirit). Spinal shivers is a good interrupt - use it on binders and gnashers to prevent the enemy from getting the bodies first.
Other damage dealing spells such as Deathly Swarm can help create the first bodies for the MM.
4. Blood - well of power will supply health and energy regen - good for everyone (but uses a body). You can use this when monks are low on health and/or warriors up front are taking lots of damage. Blood ritual to supply energy to monks. Orders for anybody in party doing physical damamge (minions don't count).
4. Or leave the group and get another one

I always do my best to leave Corpses behind. However Sometimes Polite doesnt cut it, and that other Necro is a real twit. I have On Occasion had arguements and or explained that I have indeed left corpses behind just for them.
Once We had the team Take a vote on weather they wanted MY minions or HIS minions right in the middle of a mission.
However some people just dont listen, wont listen and need a lesson taught to them.
2 Best Lessons I ever taught other players......
With all the +20% items I have I "CAN" steal Every Corpse arround
(That Collectors Bone Staff with +5En Head +20% Death Magic Wrap really helps. Or Buy the bloodstained boots)
Minion Masters mean it when they say "If I die RUN" even if your Level 18+
Now dont get me wrong, I like to play fair. And its fine to hash it out before hand. But I beleive this thread was started because there are times when it doesnt work. My point is simply.....
The right gear can make a BIG difference.
Have fun everyone...

heheh, definitely on the run bit, unless you're a smiter...but it's better for the team that the masterless minions go agro on enemies...

One time i was Necro MM, and another Necro spammed some wells spells and shut me down...
Why?
Never found out, but he ruined the mission and made it 10X harder than it should have been. (i think he wanted to be the numero uno, he robin hooded the mission after i quit making minions)
As the people here have been saying, communication is key Never met a necro that didnt mind swapping death for curses or blood. As we all know each has good attributes that add to the team.

A good MM should be using all the corpses, and in the vast majority of instances should be using them with greater effectiveness than any other necro. So beforehand figure this out and make sure only one person is using corpses intensively. I ALWAYS check to make sure there are no other corpse users before starting a mission as an MM.

I always make sure that when I'm MMing, I make sure that I know who's using corpses. However, it annoys me when that level 20 necro who I assumed would have good minions turns out to have level 8 horrors, no fiends and only Heal Area as a minion healing spell. I had that happen to me yesterday, and half the group quit in disgust, me included - I had made it perfectly clear what I expected of him and I just couldn't believe my eyes :/

If there's more than one Necro, only one should take corpses. No sharing. If your doing Blood, for example, and have WoB, then there's a MM brought into the party, take out your WoB, or Traversal, or anything else that exploits corpses. It's his job to deal with corpses, yes, his corpses, so leave it alone. If there is no MM, it should be discussed beforehand who's dealing with the corpse control so you can change your builds accordingly. No need for people to be wasting energy competing for corpses, or wasting time discussing who takes which every time they drop.
Though the most annoying thing though isn't the Necros that expliot corpses when it's not their job, it's the */N's that decide that spamming their half-arsed WoB's is better than you raising your minions, which is what your were brought into the group to do.

This became a real problem in the Alliance battles. With 24 total people running around, chances are a few will be MM. I had lots of frustration competing for corpses to raise minions. I eventually got so frustrated I created a Me/N devoted entirely to corpse exploiting and minion destruction. Kinda ticked off my own teammates, though.
